Fly Fishing for Brook Trout in Virginia’s Mountains

Every year a few of us head up into some remote section of mountain in search of brook trout.  This year being no different we set out sights on a section of the George Washington National Forest.  Scheduling these trips can be interesting to say the least, but we generally try not to go during the spawn.  This year timing just didn’t work out, so we ended up being really close to the spawn.  Some of the fish were obviously spawned out while others seemed like they were just getting going.  Either way…they all were hungry and REALLY colored up!

Between the fish and the fall color, it made for some really good scenery this year.  Here are a few shots from the trip.

A Little Southern Culture.

It’s not often you’ll see words here.  But this time, I have to take time to thank my buddy Mike Sepelak.  He’s way better with the pen than I’ll ever be.  See for yourself: Mike’s Gone Fishing Again.
